Borough Council leader Steve Siddons says the plans are essential to attract investors.
The new master-plan for Whitby was backed by the Borough Council's cabinet this week.
It sets out a £38m plan of improvements for the town and Borough Council leader Steve Siddons says he believes it will attract further investment in the town.
Councillor Siddons says a plan for Filey is in the works and the plan for Scarborough published earlier in the year is already reaping benefits.
Councillor Carl Maw agrees that attracting new investment to the Yorkshire Coast is going to be easier once all the towns have master-plan's in place.
He says the existing plan for Scarborough along with the new plan approved this week for Whitby and a forthcoming plan for Filey are going to make a big difference.
