The A174 from Lythe to Sandsend will be closed 7am-5pm today for the complicated manouver.
The train carriage will be delivered to what was once Sandsend Railway Station this morning, where it will become luxury self-catering accommodation with sea views towards Whitby.
But the cliff-side location of the old station means getting the train carriage there will be a complicated and slow process.
A large vehicle will reverse the carriage down the steep hill and a crane will hoist the carriage from near the bottom of the bank into position.
Mulgrave Estate own the old station. Karen Nightingale, the Holiday Cottages Manager, said it's going to be very exciting:
"The whole village of Sandsend is very excited. I believe the station closed on 5th May 1958. The carriage is being lifted on Tuesday and transported from Bishop Aukland. They will be reversing down Lythe Bank on Wednesday morning and a crane will lift it into position on the tracks. We've got some highly skillful people from Metcalfes who are really excited about this project. A lot of people in Sandsend remember the old railway. The carriage was buil;t in 1956 and it's believed it did actually travel on that railway route."
Karen said she expected the process to be completed by 10:00am but the road could be closed up until 5:00pm today.
