A Whitby Rower has been celebrating after winning a gruelling single skull race on Loch Ness.
Marc Wilson from Whitby Coastal Rowing Club won the Monster The Loch race recently against stiff competition from Denmark's Johan Berg
Berg was ahead for the first 20 miles of the race before Marc managed to pull ahead in the closing stages.
The annual race across Loch Ness was a record breaker with over 100 crews taking part for the first time. Also racing in the event was Whitby man "Bash" Wright who traversed the Loch in his home made single scull. Despite being a double amputee, Bash has crossed the entire Caledonian Canal before embarking on Loch Ness.
Marc, who is the captain of the Whitby Coastal Rowing Club says the club are now looking for new members and he hopes more local people will join up to take part in next year's racing fixtures.
