Bridlington Town's game against Sheffield FC later will be Adrian Costello’s first game in charge of the club, following the resignation of Mike Thompson.
Costello, who was Hull City Ladies manager before joining the club, offers a wealth of coaching experience including abroad in Sweden.
He steps up having been assistant manager since the start of the season, and will now be assisted by goalkeeper coach Ron Milam.
Their first task is to earn a positive result at Queensgate against Sheffield FC, a team who Town drew 1-1 with at The Home of Football Stadium. Jack Griffin’s superb free kick cancelled out a 10th minute opener from Sheffield.
The good news for the Seasiders is that Sheffield’s goalscorer that game Connor Cutts will be suspended, as he was sent off in their last game against Grantham Town after just 3 minutes. Sheffield fell to a 3-1 defeat in that game.
It’s been a tricky month for Bridlington Town, with a superb 2-2 draw away to league leaders Worksop Town earning them just one point from a possible 12 in January. As a result, they have been dragged down to 15th position.
With a worryingly third worst goal difference in the division (-19), the topic of relegation is on some fans' lips. Nevertheless, three points against Sheffield would see them go above the visitors in the table if they are unable to beat Tadcaster prior to the game.
Last time out for the Seasiders, they made the long trip to in-form Hebburn Town. Despite the best effort of Bridlington in the second half, two goals in the first 35 minutes from poor defending saw Hebburn earn their sixth consecutive victory.
Debuts were handed out to Nick Hutton, who started on the left wing but was utilised on the right flank and in attacking midfield throughout the game, and Mackenzie Warne, who came off the bench after an hour and could be set to make his first start against Sheffield.
Under 12s will get free entry to today's game at Queensgate.
