An overnight closure of a section of the A64 between York and Scarborough will see drivers diverted via Thirsk.
Highways England say they will be repairing the A64 between Sand Hutton and Whitwell on the Hill over the next two weekends. They will also be renewing road markings along this route.
For the safety of motorists and the workforce, there will be full overnight closures of the A64 within this area, for two weekends:
- 20 to 21 September 2025 (10pm-6am)
- 27 to 28 September 2025 (10pm-6am)
Motorists will be diverted northwest at:
- Hopgrove on to the A1237
- on to the A19 northbound
- drivers will then continue northbound to Thirsk
- before taking the A170 east to Pickering
- and then the A169 south to re-join the A64.
