Two Kayakers were rescued by Yorkshire Coast Rescue teams on Sunday.
Bridlington Coastguard Rescue Team were paged on Sunday alongside colleagues from Hornsea Coastguard Rescue Team following reports of a kayaker in difficulty off the coast near Auburn Farm, Fraisthorpe.
Due to the potentially serious nature of the incident, Bridlington RNLI Inshore Lifeboat (ILB) was also tasked to assist.
Upon arrival, the RNLI crew quickly located and recovered two inflatable kayaks and Kayakers from the water and placed them ashore into the care of the Coastguard. Thankfully no medical intervention was required.
The Coastguard Rescue Team say:
"We’d like to remind all water users that inflatable kayaks, while popular, can be extremely vulnerable to offshore winds and changing sea conditions.
Always check the weather forecast, wear appropriate safety gear, and let someone know your plans before heading out."
