Scarborough police say they had a report overnight in the area of Oriel Crescent, that multiple vehicles had been damaged.
Officers from North Yorkshire Police attended the area soon after 3am this morning and found several vehicles which had been damaged.
Officers were given a description of three males, dressed in black tracksuit bottoms and hoodies. It was reported that they left Oriel Crescent towards the UTC on on Ashburn Road and the Weaponess Valley Road area.
Scarborough Police say that their Neighbourhood Team have been out this afternoon to conduct house to house enquiries and to speak to victims.
Officers say:
"We are appealing for any residents in the area who may have CCTV, doorbell cameras, dash cams etc, to please check your footage for around the time to see if anything was captured.
