There has been an increase in demand for the Children and Young peoples service.
The high demand reported across last year has continued into this year with 7432 contacts recorded.
Although this is 374 fewer contacts than in the previous quarter but the second highest quarterly number of contacts recorded and 1061 more than in quarter one of last year.
Councillor Janet Sanderson, who's Executive Member for Children and Families, says that the service is coping despite the increased demand.
Another issue is that North Yorkshire's Fostering service is also working at capacity.
The council says the problems have been compounded by a large number of unaccompanied asylum seeking children coming through the system, more than at anytime since 2013.
The number of unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking children has increased marginally to 45 from 42 but this is higher than the normal expected range in North Yorkshire.
Councillor Janet Sanderson says that the foster care service is almost at maximum capacity.
