Journeys across Scarborough were taking over 2 hours last night and it's slow going again this morning.
Snow is blowing across the A171 between Whitby and Scarborough near the Ravenscar turn off but the road is passable according to callers.
A car has got stuck on the hill near Scalby Manor partially blocking the A165 in Scarborough.
The A165 is very slow between Scarborough and Bridlington.
Also slow this morning is the A64 and main roads in Scarborough and Bridlington.
The A174 is slow between Sandsend and Brotton.
Filey's Ebor Academy is closed due to no heating. Also closed are Hackness Primary School and St. Hedda's Primary School in Egton Bridge.
Burniston Household Waste Recycling Centre is closed too as snow showers arrive once more with a scattering of showers forecast for today.
Coastliner say that due to the adverse conditions all Coastliner 840 services to Whitby will terminate and restart at Thornton le dale.
Last night, journeys across Scarborough were taking over 2 hours as the town came to a standstill and all buses were cancelled.
Callers to This Is The Coast thanked strangers who were directing traffic, pushing cars up hills and spreading their own grit on roads.
Many people left theirs cars roadside and gave up their journeys.
