With the final easing of lockdown restrictions taking place this coming Monday the infection rate numbers in North Yorkshire are now as high as they were in January.
But health leaders say the vaccination programme has made a big difference to the number of people needing hospital treatment for COVID.
Back in January there were 400 people in North Yorkshire's COVID wards, Amanda Bloor is from the NHS in the county say that although the current figures are increasing they are much much lower than at the start of the year.
There are currently four people in Scarborough Hospital with COVID and eighty in total across North Yorkshire. That county figure is up from 47 last week.
Richard Webb is the county's Director of Health and Adult Services he says the COVID infection rate in the county is now higher than the English average.
