Coastguard Rescue Helicopter 912 has been deployed in Ravescar to rescue a casualty from Peak Steel.
Both the Ravenscar and Whitby Coastguard Rescue Team were called just before 2pm on Monday to the incident which involved a casualty who had fallen and sustained injury on the scar at Peak Steel below Ravenscar.
The teams found the casualty close to the bottom of the path down from Ravenscar. The person had sustained a lower limb injury and Coastguard Officers provided casualty care.
Due to the location Coastguard Rescue Helicopter 912 from Humberside Airport was requested to assist with extrication of the casualty off the scar and back to the cliff top. A landing site was established close to Raven Hall where the casualty was transferred into the care of Yorkshire Ambulance Service for onward transport to hospital.
