A five meter tall puppet is going to be talking a stroll on Scarborough's South Bay Beach this lunchtime.
A giant puppet will be visiting Scarborough's South Bay this morning.
The five meter tall creation is part of large scale outdoor arts project "The Odyssey" - which is re-creating the story of the Trojan War in a modern day Yorkshire Coast Setting.
Lee Threadgold from Animated Objects Theatre Company says "the survivor" puppet is rather unusual.
Saturday's performance will begin in the morning at the water's edge. APPROX. 9.30A.M.
There will then be the creation of large scale sand art as she rests on the beach, subject to sand conditions on the day. APPROX. 10.30A.M.
In the early afternoon, APPROX. 13.15/13.30 she will stand and take her first steps on the beach before being welcomed with music, spoken word and a beautiful blanket artwork made by volunteers from The Yorkshire Coast.
Tomorrow "the survivor" puppet is going on an open top bus tour.
Lee Threadgold says they are plannign to take to places it hasn't been before.
Route maps showing where Sunday's bus tour will be going can be found at http://www.animatedobjects.org/Odyssey.html
