Scarborough Police say they have received reports of a car in the water.
Officers are reporting further road closures around Throxenby Mere Low Road, which goes around the mere between the end of Lady Edith’s Drive & Red Scar Lane junction.
They say the road is currently closed and likely to remain that way for some time.
Police say :
"We are investigating after a member of the public reported a car in the water earlier today. Please avoid the area and if you have any information which could help our investigation please call 101 quoting ref: NYP –11082021- 0279"
Last night Low Road, which goes around the mere between the end of Lady Edith’s Drive and Red Scar Lane junction, had been closed for several hours after the body of a man in his 50's was found in the mere.
