A project that delivers extra curricular activities for youngsters in Scarborough, Filey and Whitby is looking for support from local firms.
Yorkshire Coast businesses are being asked to support Scarborough's Children's University.
The project encourages youngsters to take part in extra-curricular activities that support learning.
It's being managed by Coast and Vale Community Action.
CEO - Mel Bonney - says they need some local sponsorship to deliver this year's programme.
CaVCA took over delivering the Children's University scheme in Scarborough last year when the previous provider withdrew.
Mel Bonney says they are looking for some new funding to help deliver the programme.
In July CaVCA held their first graduation ceremony for the children involved in last years events with a glitzy ceremony at Scarborough Spa.
The Children’s University is a national scheme which enables children to broaden their horizons and take part in activities they may not ordinarily participate in, especially now due to the cost of living crisis. This in turn improves their resilience, engages, and inspires them and helps them to reach their full potential.
They achieve this by attending after school clubs, weekend clubs for sport, dance etc, getting outdoors and discovering nature, or any other activity where they have fun whilst learning.
Children receive a passport to learning, in which they log their learning hours. Once they have accumulated 30 hours or more, they have a university style graduation which recognises and rewards their achievements in the hopes of fostering feelings of aspiration and pride.
Mel says there are a number of ways in which local firms can provide sponsorship for the programme.
