The executive member for finance at NYCC has voiced his fears on the allocation of government funding and how it may affect the local authority and its partners.
Councillor Gareth Dadd said he hopes political loyalties are kept out of funding decisions affecting the still Conservative-dominated authority.
Scarborough and Whitby elected a female MP for the first time in Labour's Alison Hume in July, but the rest of the Yorkshire Coast remains under Tory leadership.
Responding to a question from Eastfield councillor Tony Randerson, now representing the Social Justice Party, Councillor Dadd had this to say:
Councillor Dadd mentioned concerns over rises to employer national insurance confirmed in the recent budget.
He says official confirmation of funding allocations for local authorities will be received, from Government, just before Christmas:
