North Yorkshire fire brigades were called to single vehicle collisions in Seamer, near Scarborough, and Whitby on Saturday night and early Sunday morning.
Just before 6pm on Saturday, Scarborough crews responded to reports of a single vehicle road traffic collision where a motorcyclist had come off his bike. Crews administered first aid to the male casualty and assisted with traffic management alongside the police until the arrival of paramedics. The male casualty was then transported to hospital via road ambulance.
Then around 12.20am on Sunday morning, crews from Whitby and Danby responded to reports of a single vehicle road traffic collision involving a car. Officers assisted a 26-year-old female driver who had become mechanically trapped after rolling the vehicle to avoid a badger. The crews helped the female out of the vehicle and administered first aid and oxygen therapy until the arrival of paramedics on scene, which she was then driven to hospital via ambulance. The vehicle was made safe using stabilisation, lighting and small tools.
