North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue responded to a train fire at Grosmont Station, on Sunday morning.
Fire crews from Whitby and Robin Hoods Bay responded to a report of a fire in the kitchen carriage of an empty train, the fire was confined to the area between the internal wood panel and external stainless steel panel of the train.
They say an area of 1 square metre was cut away and the fire was extinguished using one hose reel jet, there was no further damage, one hose reel jet, small tools and a thermal imaging camera were used.
