Scarborough and Filey fire crews tackled a house fire in Newby just after 11pm on Saturday night.
On arrival, officers found one bedroom of the property ablaze.
They used breathing apparatus and a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire.
The cause is unknown at this time, a fire investigation officer is re-attending the incident on Sunday.
