A team of volunteers will be helping to collect plastic from Filey Beach today.
Bryden Simpson from Active Filey says it's surprising how much they manage to collect at their regular beach clean events.
Active Filey has been created to promote health related activities and sports opportunities such as cycling / running /jogging/ walking and watersports like sea swimming.
Their ethos is that of getting folks active and creating local opportunities for participation totally inclusive of age and ability on our fabulous coast and countryside.
As part of their activities the team from Active Filey undertake a monthly beach clean.
Bryden Simpson from the group says they will have a particular focus on plastic this month.
Today's beach clean gets underway at 1pm meeting at the Filey country park cafe.
