The the Filey branch Royal British Legion is encouraging local people to take part in this year's Festival of Remembrance on Saturday November 8th.
There are fears that this year's event could run at a loss due to slow ticket sales.
Filey's Remembrance Service will take place at the town's Methodist Church on Saturday 8th November and will feature The Hunmaby Silver Band, Singing for Joy, Kath Ryan and piper David Leeman.
The Royal British Legion's Branch Community Coordinator, for Filey, is Paul Colling he's encouraging more local residents to support the annual event.
"It's been a great community event where we all come together to one of those who've served and sacrificed for our country. The doors will be opening about 3:30 PM and the show starts at four. We've got a fantastic line-up this year. We've got the honeybee silver band who'll be performing along with singing for Joy, who's a fantastic choir.
"And we've got Kathy Ryan, who's a solo artist. And we've also got a very moving tribute from Bagpiper, David Lehman. So it's a mix of uplifting music, some solemn reflection, and it's a chance for the whole community to come together and pay tribute."
People can buy tickets online by scanning the QR code on the promotional poster or by visiting this link:

Tickets can also be purchased from Filey post office.
This year there is reduced ticket prices to £7 per adult, £5 concessions (OAP and 10-16 year olds) and children under 10 are free with a paying adult.
Paul thinks there are reasons why turn-out to the event has been down in recent years:
"I think sadly there's not as many older folks still around now from the second World War.
"So we're really relying heavily on veterans from other campaigns, Falklands and especially now, from the Afghan campaigns. So yeah, we would like to encourage those people who might not usually attend to come along and boost our numbers. There's a lot going on in the world and people still need to remember those who have made the ultimate sacrifice.
"So yes they should be coming along and paying their respects."
The event runs from 4pm to 6:30pm on Saturday November 8th at Filey Methodist Church on Union Street in the town.
