That's the message from town councillors who have expressed their frustration at the amount of time it's taking to refurbish facilities at the country park and cobble landing.
The public facilities at Coble Landing and the Country Park closed in the autumn for refurbishment work, but town councillors are worried that little progress has been made and there is now concern that they wont be ready for the summer season.
Filey Mayor - Councillor Jacqui Houlden-Banks - says even temporary toilets would be better than nothing.
In a report to the town council last week, Filey's Borough Councillor - Mike Cockerill - reported...
"Due to the delay in the Planning process to allow demolition of the Ravine toilet block, consideration is being given to the possibility of temporarily reopening the facility.
I am informed that it could take circa 5 weeks from preparing for the demolition of the existing block to opening the replacement facility, I have stated that Filey cannot be without for these toilets for that length of time.
In my opinion it would be far better to wait until the end of the season before demolition takes place.
I have had a number of discussions with officer about the possibility of reopening the existing toilet block, albeit on a temporary basis. I have been informed that it will take 3 weeks to make the toilets ready for reopening and that is if it is possible to remove the tree roots from the drains"
Councillor Cockerill said he is frustrated with the slow progress and has spoken to borough council officers.
Temporary toilets have been installed at the country park, Filey's County Councillor - Sam Cross - now wants the same to happen at coble landing.
The public toilets at Filey Bus Station, Bridge Hole and the Evron centre have remained open through the winter.
