Seven new councillors have been elected to represent the Filey Ward on Filey Town Council.
The roles became vacant after an ‘unprecedented’ wave of resignations in October that left just enough councillors for the authority to remain legally quorate,
Elections had been planned for Thursday November 20th, but as all seven positions were uncontested, all the candidates have been elected unopposed.
The new Town Councillors are:
- Joanne Clayson
- Mark Cotterill
- Michael Fenlon
- Colin Haddington
- Kate Nash
- Linda Randall
- Graham Thompson
Eight members of Filey Town Council and the town clerk recently resigned. Councillors have put in place a plan to hire an interim town clerk for the next six months on a part-time basis.
