The cause of a spate of dog illness in January is still not clear but experts say there is nothing to connect the incidents with the Yorkshire Coast's bathing waters.
Local Vets reported a wave of sickness in dogs at the start of the year, at first it was thought to be related to visiting beaches but there were also reports from dog owners inland.
Scarborough Borough Council's Jonathan Bradley has been liaising with Defra and the Environment Agency, he says they have found no link with local waters.
Borough Councillor, Bill Chatt, is calling for more clarity over the outbreak of the dog illness in January.
Initially it was thought the dogs were becoming ill after visiting the Yorkshire Coast's beaches, but cases of the illness were also reported inland.
Councillor Chatt thinks more clarity was needed about what did and what didn't cause the outbreak.
