The community bus service came to an end last month when long term operator Colin Galway retired.
The hope is that a new organisation can be formed to take over running the service.
Filey Councillor - Sam Cross - says he has temporarily taken on ownership of the bus to ensure it stays in the town.
Councillor Sam Cross says the loss of the service is being felt and it's hoped a new organisation can be created to take on running the bus.
Filey town Council is giving it's support to trying to find a new operator for the service but says there are a number of challenges. Councillor Marilyn Anthony says Colin did such a great job for so long that finding a replacement is going to be tough.
Community Regeneration Officer - Zoe Kelsall - says there has been a lot of work going on in the background to try and come up with a solution.
Filey Town Council recently launched a survey to gather local people's views on the need for community transport in the town.
