There was an early start to the week for local rescue teams.
The pagers of RNLI crew members in Scarborough and Whitby sounded at 2.36am on Monday 18th November 2024.
Scarborough's All-weather (ALB) was launched to a reported activation of a distress beacon (Epirb) 65 miles North East of Scarborough.
Sea conditions were rough getting worse further off shore.
The Scarborough lifeboat along with Whitby lifeboat and the Coastguard rescue helicopter were all stood down after an hour of travelling out as HM Coastguard had made contact with the vessel and found everything was safe and well onboard, and it was an accidental activation.
