Scarborough's RNLI team were called out to Cayton Bay in the early hours.
This morning at 02:00 Scarborough's Lifeboats were tasked to five people in the Knipe point, Cayton Bay area.
With the ALB put on immediate readiness the ILB launched and passaged South to Knipe Point where they found all five casualties on the beach safe and well.
Coastguard teams assisted the group by land to the Wheatcroft area and safety.
The ILB D-Class Helm said
"the group had used the What Three Words App when talking to the coastguards for their position, this made it relatively easy to locate them.
You should always check the tides and weather before you head out, you can soon find yourself somewhere you had no intention of being and in need of assistance."
For more information on how to be safe at the beach, follow rnli.org/safety/beach-safety
If you see anyone injured or in distress on the coast, dial 999 and ask for the coastguard.
