A recruitment event next week will aim to help local hospitality businesses fill vacant roles.
The event which is being organised by Yorkshire in Business with support of Scarborough Borough Council is a recruitment day aimed at supporting Hospitality businesses to recover from the effects of Covid-19 business closures by supporting them to fill vacant job roles. The event is to be held in the Brunswick Centre on Monday 19th July 2021 between 11am and 1.30pm.
Emma Ward event organiser for Yorkshire in Business says
“The idea behind the event is for the businesses to interview attendees there and then and we are hoping as a result many roles will be filled”
Confirmed businesses showcasing job roles include the New KFC at Eastfield, The Crown Hotel & Spa, Scarborough Spa, Wrea Head Hotel, Weatherspoon’s and many more. Different job roles on offer vary from Food & beverage, maintenance and receptionist. The event will also include Kickstart and Apprenticeship vacancies locally which provide paid training roles for younger applicants. .
Jenn Crowther CEO of Yorkshire in Business says
“Nationally the Hospitality sector is struggling to recruit staff and Scarborough being a tourist destination means the impact can be devastating on our towns recovery. The local economy needs to fill these roles to start trading at full capacity and so we need to spread the word of the event so we can fill as many roles as possible”
Job seekers are encouraged to visit the Brunswick in the old Argos unit to meet with potential employers on Monday.
Businesses wanting to exhibit at the event can email Emma Ward on emmawa@yib.org.uk to reserve a space.
