The Flamborough crew were involved in a "double shout" on Sunday.
Flamborough RNLI launched on service on Sunday at 1:42pm tasked to search for an object seen in the water off Flamborough Head.
The volunteer crew completed a search of the area but nothing was found.
At 3:58pm whilst awaiting further instruction the lifeboat was diverted to another incident. A yacht with 2 people on board was 3.6 nautical miles NE of Flamborough Head and had suffered mechanical failure requiring assistance.
The yacht was towed towards South Landing and was safely anchored off shore to continue the tow when there was sufficient depth of water to enter the harbour.
Flamborough RNLI then re launched at 11pm and towed the yacht safely into Bridlington harbour. Lifeboat and volunteer crew returned safely to station at South Landing at 1:45am where the tractor and lifeboat were cleaned refuelled and prepared for the next service.
