Maisie fell over the cliff at Runswick Bay at the weekend and has now visited her rescuers to show some doggy thanks.
Following a rescue on Sunday where both the Staithes and Whitby Coastguard Rescue Teams were called to a dog that had fallen from a cliff, Maisie and her owners have visited the Staithes station to personally thank the teams.
Maisie was rescued safe and well and reunited with her owners at the cliff top.
In a letter to the teams Maisie's owners said..
"It's so easy to take the Coastguard, RNLI and volunteer rescue boats for granted until you need them"
"We are very aware of the dangers of cliffs and are always careful walking our dogs. On this occasion in the blink of an eye, things got out of control and, in a freak accident, Maisie fell off the cliff at Runswick Bay. With one phone call the response from HM Coastguard was outstanding.
We won't lie, by the time you turned up we were sure it was a hopeless cause and we would never see Maisie alive again. But, the professionalism, determination and compassion of the team who came to help was amazing. The team leader knelt on the floor with Jude and promised her everything would be OK. After 2 hours he kept that promise..
We will be eternally grateful to you all for bringing our 'baby' back to us, from the bottom of our hearts THANK YOU"
