North Yorkshire Council’s Head of Harbours and Coastal Infrastructure, has acknowledged the importance of attracting the offshore wind industry to Scarborough and Whitby Harbours
Attracting the offshore support industry to Scarborough and Whitby is going to require investment in the town's Maritime's facilities.
That's the message from North Yorkshire Council's Head of Harbours.
Chris Bourne says the council has had conversations with potential harbour users to identify what facilities need to be added.
The head of Scarborough and Whitby Harbour's says getting a new boat hoist for Scarborough Harbour is key to attracting the offshore renewables industry to the town.
Chris Bourne says that the council is taking steps to make the necessary improvements to the harbour facilities.
Chris Bourne says the council has held a "very positive meeting" with A2 Marine, the marine engineers responsible for assessing the infrastructure needs for the boat hoist.
