Volunteers are being sought for a new filming project on the Yorkshire Coast
Animated Objects Theatre Company will be running filming and casting sessions for volunteers along the coast in the coming months as part of ‘The Odyssey - An Epic Adventure on the Yorkshire Coast’.
The completed films will tell Homer’s ancient story of the Trojan Wars reinvented to be set in the future, with the Yorkshire Coastline as the dramatic backdrop.
The theatre company are currently looking for people aged 16 and above to take on roles in the production. They say no previous experience is required - "just the enthusiasm to be part of something involving the wider community".
If you’d like to be involved, filming sessions will taking place at Scarborough, YMCA on Thursday 30th September.
There will be two sessions for different roles.
Lee Threadgold from Animated Objects says:
"From 5.00- 6:45pm we will be auditioning for speaking parts - we’re looking for people to play Goddesses and Gods; Kings and Queens and heroes and heroines. There are some incredible characters in the story, and plenty for everyone to get stuck into!
Then from 7.00 - 8.00 pm we will be looking for Warriors and Soldiers of Troy - we need women and men who are happy to get armoured up and bring some physicality to recreate some iconic scenes from our epic battles. Think Lightsabers and lasers rather than togas and swords!
We are also holding casting sessions at Filey Evron centre on Tuesday 21st September and at Whitby Coliseum on Tuesday 28th September and will have timings for those on our Facebook page.
If you would like to be part of the adventure at one of our sessions, please contact Animated Objects ,by email: animatedobjects@mac.com, or telephone (01723) 378906 to let us know you’re coming along. We’d love to hear from you."
