People in Staithes have been left confused after it was split into different tiers of coronavirus restrictions.
The village is divided by a stream, with the village to the south of the stream in North Yorkshire's Tier 1 restrictions and the northern part under the tighter Tier 2 rules of Redcar and Cleveland.
Lawyer Colin Harrison lives on the north bank, but owns holiday cottages on the south bank, he says he is unsure of the exact difference between the two tiers despite trying to read the Government advice.
