A charity football tournament and family fun day is set to take place in Bridlington to raise funds for a local community organisation.
The event will be hosted at Bridlington Town Football Club on Sunday.
Organisers have arranged the day in support of The Hinge Centre, a charity dedicated to assisting local people and services across the community.
The fundraising event aims to bring together families, local businesses, and supporters from across the East Riding for a day dedicated to football, entertainment, and community spirit.
According to the event planners, the primary goal is to create an enjoyable atmosphere while generating essential financial support for the community services provided by The Hinge Centre.
Gates at the Bridlington Town Football Club are scheduled to open to the public at 10:45 am, giving attendees time to arrive and settle in before the sporting action begins.
Megan Robinson is the Operations Manager for The Hinge Centre:
"We're a charity in Bridlington and we support the community as a whole, offering vital services, support, advice and guidance. We have a number of different community groups that run all supporting people to build confidence, reducing isolation, meeting new people. Since the cost of living crisis, we've seen an increase in working people accessing our services for our emergency food provisions and our community food store. We have seen an increase in people accessing our services and our services are open to everybody, not just for people who are on benefits or low income, anybody can access any of our services across the board."
Alongside the football tournament, the event will feature a range of stalls and community initiatives designed to support and entertain families in attendance.
Megan outlined the local businesses involved and the activities planned for the day:
"We've got six teams who are local businesses, and we got West Building Supplies, Muntons Malt, A Bruntons, AB Graphics are some of those local businesses who are supporting the event. And we've got a raffle, there's tattoos, cakes and a toy stall, and it'll just be a nice day, hopefully for everybody to sort of come together, raise funds for the Hinge Centre and have a bit of a fun kick about. Ryan from Brid Boro Boot Club, he's coming down and giving free boots out to the community, I think, kids and adults. A really great initiative. And then Brid Town, really pleased that they're on board with this again and thank you to Steve as well for sorting out a couple of the scholarship referees for us."
