There's an investigation after a cat was injured in Cropton, Pickering.
It happened overnight between Saturday 17 August and Sunday 18 August 2024 and the injured cat returned home.
A vet later confirmed that the cat appeared to have been shot by a shot gun cartridge as it had numerous pellets within its body.
The cat survived and is recovering while being cared for by its owners.
Police are appealing for information about the incident.
