As North Yorkshire embarks on a major recruitment campaign for the care sector, there is a call for care providers to look at pay and conditions.
Pay and conditions for care workers on the Yorkshire Coast needs to be looked at carefully if the sector is going to retain staff and recruit new talent.
that's one of the messages from North Yorkshire County councils director of health and adult services as the authority embarks on a fresh drive to fill the county's 1000 care vacancies.
Richard Webb says the care providers themselves have work to do.
The County Council has just embarked on a major recruitment drive to try and fill the 1000 care posts in the county which are currently vacant.
But Richard Webb says solving issues around pay in the care sector is probably going to need more government support.
Richard says it's not just a local problem.
