Bridlington Town has confirmed its initial retained player list for the upcoming season.
Bridlington Town has announced its initial retained list following the conclusion of the 2025/26 campaign, marking the beginning of a busy period of changes taking place at the club.
First Team Manager Scott Kerr and his coaching staff have held individual meetings with the players to discuss their futures at Queensgate ahead of the upcoming season.
The club has confirmed that eleven players have been retained for the next campaign. Tom Allan and Ahmed Salam have both had their options triggered by the club to extend their stays.
Joining them on the retained list for the new season are Joe Batty, Riley Cooper, Hamza Hamdosh, Alex Markham, Joe Pratley, Ishaun Rogers, Casey Stewart, Charley Whight, and Ifeanyi "Destiny" Nnenanya.
Alongside the retained players, Bridlington Town confirmed the departure of four loan players who will be returning to their respective parent clubs. The departing loanees are Alex Baird, Ben Farrar, Eddie Kettlewell, and Denny Oliver.
The club has stated that discussions remain ongoing with several other members of the first-team squad regarding their futures, and the retained list will be updated in due course once decisions have been finalised.
Among those retained is Ifeanyi "Destiny" Nnenanya, who has officially signed a contract to remain with the Seasiders for the 2026/27 season. The club noted that since arriving at Queensgate a few months ago, he has made a massive impression after transitioning from a league below.
Nnenanya was praised by the club for his relentless work rate and standout performances, which included winning the February Goal of the Month award for a stunning individual strike. By putting pen to paper, the club says he becomes a vital part of the squad's core.
Destiny Nnenanya said:
"I am really happy to sign my first contract for the club. It’s been a really good run of games since I joined the lads. Definitely not easy coming from league below but Scott, the lads and everyone else in the locker room have been fantastic, never felt like a stranger. Happy to be here and do my part, hopefully get promotion next season. UP THE SEASIDERS!!!"
In addition to shaping the playing squad, Bridlington Town has recently secured its managerial future. First Team Manager Scott Kerr has committed his future to the club by signing a new two-year contract.
The new deal will see Kerr lead the Seasiders through the 2026/27 and 2027/28 campaigns, providing a long-term foundation for the club's ambitions within the Northern Premier League.
Since his appointment on New Year's Day 2026, the former Lincoln City and York City captain has transformed the team's fortunes. His tenure has already been marked by a remarkable run of form, including a fourteen-match streak with only two defeats, and a successful charge to the East Riding Senior Cup Final.
The club credited Kerr with instilling a brand of high-energy, attractive football that has revitalised the atmosphere at Queensgate.
Scott Kerr said:
"I’m thrilled to get this deal signed. From the moment I walked into this club, I’ve felt the support of the board, the players, and most importantly, the fans. We’ve made great strides in a short space of time, but we’re only just getting started. I’m excited to build something special here over the next two years."
Steve Brennan said:
"Since coming in halfway through the season, Scott’s brought the professionalism and standards we expected. You can see the progress on the pitch, and he’s worked hard to put together an exciting young team that supporters can really get behind. There’s a clear sense that we’re moving forward and are delighted Scott has agreed to help us achieve our long term goals"
