A successful Spring Coffee Morning held at Bridlington Rugby Club has raised more than £900 to support patient care at Saint Catherine’s Hospice.
The Saint Catherine’s Bridlington Support Group has successfully raised an impressive total of £916.30 to help fund patient care during their highly anticipated Spring Coffee Morning.
The ever-popular fundraising event was hosted at the Bridlington Rugby Club, drawing in members of the local community to support the vital work of the hospice.
Attendees at the coffee morning were treated to a variety of activities and attractions. These included a number of fundraising stalls, a selection of freshly made home baking, and a traditional raffle to help boost the charity's total.
Susan Stephenson, the fundraising operations coordinator at Saint Catherine’s, shared her gratitude for the community's support following the successful morning. She said:
"The event was fabulous – it was busy, there was a great atmosphere and everyone had such a lovely morning. A huge thank you to all the ladies at our Bridlington Support Group who work so hard to tirelessly raise funds for patient care. Also, a big thank you to the venue and to all the stallholders who came along on the day."
Following the financial success of the coffee morning, the Bridlington Support Group has already announced its next charitable gathering for the local community, which is titled 'The Gate of the Year'.
This upcoming event is scheduled to take place on Thursday the 25th of June at the Sewerby Methodist Church. Doors will open to the public at 2:00 pm, with the main event commencing shortly after at 2:30 pm.
Organisers have described 'The Gate of the Year' as an hour-long celebration of a lifetime. The performance will guide attendees through the passing of the seasons using a thoughtful combination of spoken words and live piano music.
Admission for the event will be available to purchase on the door for £5. The ticket price includes a serving of tea or coffee alongside a piece of cake, ensuring a welcoming afternoon for all. Everyone is welcome to attend, with all proceeds from the ticket sales going directly to Saint Catherine’s Hospice.
In addition to its ongoing fundraising efforts, the charity is also reminding the public about the vital support services available through the Saint Catherine’s Bridlington Cancer Group.
Members of the public are warmly invited to attend the support group, which meets on a weekly basis. The gatherings take place every Tuesday afternoon between 1:00 pm and 3:00 pm at The Maltings, located on Jewison Lane in Sewerby.
The Saint Catherine’s Wellbeing team facilitates these weekly sessions, providing a relaxed, friendly, and supportive space specifically designed for adults aged eighteen and over. The meetings offer a safe environment for individuals to connect with others who truly understand the challenges they are currently going through.
