Bridlington Business Centre is the venue for a package of free workshops taking place throughout March, which are aimed at those who would like to, or have recently, become self-employed.
Organised by Invest East Yorkshire, which is part of East Riding of Yorkshire Council, the four sessions are an opportunity for people to get help, advice and support with their new business venture and ask any questions they may have.
Presented by Yorkshire In Business Enterprise Agency and funded by the Government’s UK Shared Prosperity Fund, the workshops will run over four consecutive Wednesday evenings, from 5 March to 26 March, at the Bridlington Business Centre, which is located on the Bessingby Industrial Estate, beginning at 5.30pm and finishing at 7.30pm.
A different aspect of establishing and running your own business will be covered each week, including
- how to write a business plan;
- the legalities of running a business,
- how to finance your business,
- and marketing and sales.
Felicity Clayton, Business Support Project Manager at Invest East Yorkshire, said:
“We know from our research that there’s demand for these workshops in the Bridlington area so we’ve arranged to host them locally in response to feedback from local people.
“Whether you’re thinking of becoming self-employed and unsure where to start or are just taking your first steps towards establishing your own business, this series of workshops will guide you through the key issues that you need to consider on a week-by-week basis. Whatever stage in your new business journey you’re at, it’s well worth booking your free place.”
Invest East Yorkshire’s Business Support Services team offers a comprehensive package of support to businesses, from events and workshops to one-to-one advice and help identifying sources of funding. It also manages The Supply Chain Network Supplier Directory, which was created for businesses to showcase their products and services, and a Resource Portal, where businesses can find a wide range of free information, tools and templates. The team is also able to signpost businesses to other support providers and draw upon the expertise of colleagues in other departments across the council, such as planning, licensing and environmental health.
Organisers say that anyone who registers to attend the workshops will be allocated a place at all four sessions.
