A Bridlington Town Business Breakfast is taking place today to highlight the benefits of inclusive hiring.
On Thursday, 21st November, Bridlington Town Football Club will host the Bridlington Town Business Breakfast, an event aimed at promoting the benefits of hiring individuals with special needs and disabilities.
Organized by Project DANDI, the event seeks to inform local businesses about the advantages of inclusive employment practices and the support available for both employees and employers.
Project DANDI, known for its work-based learning programs, provides adults with disabilities the opportunity to gain real-life working experience and develop essential workplace skills. The Business Breakfast will feature discussions on the positive impact of inclusive hiring on business performance and community well-being.
Attendees will also learn about resources such as the Access to Work program, which offers support to ensure a smooth integration of employees with additional needs into the workforce. This event underscores the importance of diversity and inclusion in the workplace, encouraging local businesses to embrace a more inclusive approach to hiring.
The football club has already provided work placements through project DANDI.
Francesca has started volunteering at Bridlington Town Football Club during the DANDI Social Club, serving hot and cold drinks, helping to prepare and serve food, and setting up activities for people with special needs and disabilities.
Over the next 3 months Francesca will be supported to develop a new CV and gain further training and work experience opportunities.
Alexander is developing customer service and hospitality skills which he has learned when working behind the bar, dispensing drinks, and chatting to customers whilst enjoying their Sporting Memories session.
Project DANDI is operated by Abelite, there is more information at https://abilite.uk/dandi-2/
