Bridlington Town will host Emley AFC at the Mounting Systems Stadium, on Saturday, in the Northern Premier League East division, 11 days after their last game.
It had been an incredibly busy schedule for Bridlington, who had five weeks in a row of midweek games. Most recently, they had three home games in the space of a week, which began with a 5-2 defeat against Ossett United.
They then beat Heaton Stannington 1-0, though lost the third game 2-0 against Newton Aycliffe. The fixture pile-up has led to a number of injuries for the Seasiders, including Simon Heslop, Josh Barrett, Tom Allan and Danny Earl.
All games in the Northern Premier League East were postponed last Saturday due to the adverse weather conditions, including Bridlington Town’s trip to Consett AFC.
It gives Denny Ingram an opportunity to hopefully get a few of those players back fit for what will be the Seasiders’ fourth consecutive home game.
Bridlington’s opponents, Emley AFC, won the Northern Counties East League Premier Division last campaign with 85 points, and have taken no time to adapt to the step up. They sit 3rd with 37 points, having won their last game 1-0 away from home against Sheffield FC.
