Bridlington Town are safe from relegation after a dramatic win- elsewhere Whitby Town were left disappointed.
Brett Agnew's Brid came from behind to beat Dunston 3-2 at the Hudgell Solicitors Stadium.
The Gateshead side led on the half hour, before Danny Earl levelled on the stroke of half time.
Earl then turned the match on its head with his and Brid's second just before the hour.
However, there was concern when the visitors levelled, seven minutes from time.
With nervous glances at other scores in NPL East, Brid won a penalty in the final minute. Then the referee retracted his call and gave a corner, before consulting with his linesman and deciding on a spot kick. Lewis Dennison kept his nerve to fire home from 12 yards to give Brid the win they knew would safeguard their Northern Premier League status.
Agnew, who has left the club, spoke to Brid Town TV after the game:
Elsewhere, Whitby Town lost their final NPL Premier game of the season as they finished just outside the play-off places. The Blues lost 2-1 to Gainsborough Trinity at the Towbar Express Stadium. On-loan Middlesbrough winger Harry Green was on target for the Seasiders.
Blues joint manager Nathan Haslam chatted to Whitby Town TV post-match:
