Boro Overtake Blues While Brid Beaten Again

Scarborough Athletic made it three wins in a row on Saturday to go ahead of rivals Whitby Town, but Bridlington Town suffered another defeat.

There were mixed fortunes for our Yorkshire Coast football sides on Saturday.

Scarborough Athletic are celebrating a third successive victory, despite ongoing injury concerns to a number of players.

Ashley Jackson's second-half volley was enough to see off Radcliffe and continue Boro's miserly defensive record. Jono Greening's men have conceded just once in their five league games as they rise to sixth in the NPL Premier Division.

The victory saw the Seadogs leapfrog local rivals Whitby Town, who lost out 1-0 at Gainsborough Trinity.

It was a first defeat of the season for the Blues, who conceded in the 17th minute, in Lincolnshire.

An unhappy hunting ground for the Seasiders, the loss drops Town to seventh, just below Scarborough.

Bridlington Town are finding life tough in the NPL First Division East and are still looking for their first point after three defeats.

The latest came on Saturday, when Brid were defeated 3-0 at the world's oldest current football club, Sheffield FC.
