The match was an earlier than usual 12.30pm kick-off pre-arranged in-case England had a game in the World Cup at 3pm.
Despite the change, Boro were fully alert and led inside 12 minutes when Dom Tear fired home.
However, their North West opponents hit back six minutes into added time, right at the end.
The result drops the Seadogs to sixth in National North.
