Scarborough were 2-0 up within 180 seconds in a crazy start to the match, which also saw Buxton pull a goal back in the 7th minute.
Seadogs Manager Jono Greening said he expected Buxton to provide one of the tougher tests this season, and so it proved.
The Bucks enjoyed a lot of possession and were impressive on the ball, but Boro had a dream start with 2 goals in the opening 3 minutes.
Barely 40 seconds were on the clock when Luca Colville struck the ball from outside the penalty area and it went in off the underside of the crossbar.
Seadogs fans, some of whom were still coming in through the turnstiles, were in dreamland when Jake Hull struck the ball into the bottom right corner before the clock hit 3 minutes.
But Luke Brennan pulled a goal back for The Bucks just 3 minutes later in an extraordinary start to the match.
Despite no more goals in the next 83 minutes, it was an energetic match as the Seadogs battled to keep the full-timers at bay.
Boro had a shout for a penalty and also hit the post as chances came to kill the game off.
Here's the opening two goals for Boro.
Jono spoke to SAFC TV after the match:
Scarborough's next league game is away at Chester this Saturday.
Boro find out tonight if they will be travelling to Hallam FC or Ashton United in the FA Cup on 13th September. The two teams have their replay later.
