Humberside Police figures have revealed the 20 most common crimes people in Hull and the East Riding were arrested for so far this year.
Humberside Police data showed officers arrested 556 people in connection with assaults which caused actual bodily harm (ABH), or those where someone deliberately or recklessly harms another person.
Arrests for common assault, where someone threatens or meets out verbal or physical attacks, came second with 489.
A total of 261 people were arrested after failing to appear for court hearings while 220 arrests were made for non-recordable offences.
The latter refers to arrests for drunkenness, nuisance phone calls, failing to do a breathalyser test and others where personal details are logged on the Police National Computer (PNC).
Criminal damage to a dwelling was the fifth most common offence officers arrested people for, with a total of 203 so far this year.
Officers made 202 arrests for affray, or fighting in a public space and in so doing causing terror to others nearby.
A total of 173 arrests were made for shop thefts, with 172 made over burglaries in homes.
Drunk driving arrests numbered 163 while officers made 156 arrests in connection with grievous bodily harm (GBH) assaults.
GBH refers to assaults resulting in serious injuries such as leaving the victim with a permanent disability or damage or those needing extensive treatment.
Other forms of criminal damage accounted for 148 arrests, with 146 arrests made for the possession of Class B or C drugs.
