Are Facemasks Staying on the Yorkshire Coast?

When the COVID restrictions are relaxed on Monday one change will be the end of the compulsory use of face masks but will people carry on using them voluntarily?

While facemasks will no longer be required by law in most situations from Monday, many businesses are continuing to encourage customers to use the face coverings.

Dr Victoria Turner is North Yorkshire's Public Health Consultant, she says masks will continue to be important after Monday.

With the vaccination programme not expected to be completed until later in the summer, Dr Turner says we need to keep following good hygiene measures in order to protect those who are not yet fully vaccinated.

We spoke to people in Filey about the changes to the rule son Monday and whether or not they think people will continue to wear face masks in shops and other public places.
