The A64 was closed near Staxton earlier due to a collision.
The collision occurred sometime before 6am this morning.
National Highways say:
"All emergency services are working at the scene in a response being led by North Yorkshire police.
A diversion route using local routes has been installed at this time.
Please allow extra time for your journey this morning and plan ahead. "
The collision was between Seamer and Staxton, the road was closed westbound while an oil spillage and debris was cleared.
National highways reported the road reopened just after 11am.
