A military veteran who is raising money for a mental health charity by running five thousand miles round the UK coastline will be arriving on the Yorkshire Coast Today.
Paul Minter is heading from North to South, he's expected in Whitby later.
Scarborough based Flight Lieutenant Rob Hetherington is one of Paul's supporters, he's asking the public to get involved in supporting Paul's efforts.
You can follow Paul's progress on a live map here https://live.opentracking.co.uk/headup22/
Paul will be raising funds for Head Up, a new UK charity set up by four veterans, intending to promote mental health awareness for UK Armed Forces, and help forces personnel build a positive mindset and improve their mental resilience.
Flight Lieutenant Hetherington says the charity has special significance for Paul.
Head Up is on a mission to raise enough money to develop a holistic and positive 7-day retreat. This retreat will be there for all those who have served, and are still serving, in any service of the UK military, who wish to improve their mindset and outlook.
Paul is essentially running 191 marathons around the UK coastline and intends to complete the challenge in 218 days. Having started on March 1st, Paul hopes to finish in Liverpool on October 4th.
Pail says:
"This will be an unsupported challenge, to encourage establishments, organisations, businesses, groups, and individuals to run any section and distance with me, Forrest Gump style! Helping to raise funding and awareness.
I will be largely reliant on the good will of the general public for housing and respite during my journey across the UK. My tracking device will allow everyone to follow me along the entire route. Where you can join me or show your support where possible."
Today is day 66 of Paul's challenge, it will see him run from Redcar to Whitby before enjoying a few rest days in the town. Paul will then be running the rest of the Yorkshire coast next week.

Paul is hoping to raise £50k from the challenge, he is now over half way to that target.
