The collision involving a double deck bus and a tractor happened on the journey home from Hornsea School yesterday.
Humberside Polcie say that their officers were called to reports of a road traffic collision between a double decker school bus and a tractor on the A1035, Leas Lane near to Seaton at around 3.30pm yesterday afternoon (Wednesday 22 January).
Emergency services attended, and a 15-year-old girl and a 15-year-old boy have been taken to hospital to receive medical treatment to serious injuries.
Twenty-nine passengers between the ages of 11- and 16 years-old suffered minor injuries.
Road closures were put in place at the scene to allow emergency services to work safely, the road has since been reopened.
Humberside Police say:
"Investigations are ongoing, and officers are carrying out a number of lines of enquiries to establish the circumstances of the collision.
If anyone was in the area around the time of the incident, or if you have any information, CCTV, doorbell or dashcam footage that may assist us with our enquiries, please contact us on our non-emergency number 101 quoting log 287 of 22 January."
In a post on social media last night Hornsea School & Language College said:
"Following tonight's incident involving the HS001 bus we would like to share our thanks to the students for their conduct in such challenging circumstances, and to the school staff and emergency services who assisted at the scene.
Support will be available in school for any students involved who have been affected by the accident, both those on the bus involved and those travelling on the buses behind who witnessed the incident."
