England women ramp up preparations for Rugby League World Cup with win against France in Toulouse

England women ramped up preparations for the Rugby League World Cup in their mid-season international against France on Saturday, with a dominant performance in Toulouse.

Playing their first international fixture of the year England ran out 38-4 winners at the Stade Ernest-Wallon, the home of Toulouse Olympique.

Debutant Ellise Derbyshire scored for the visitors after France has taken the lead through two converted penalties.

Lucy Murray touched down twice, before Ella Donnelly also crossed for his first ever try in an England shirt as Stuart Barrow's side began to run riot.

Woman of Steel, Eva Hunter, produced a rampaging run to evade numerous French defenders to touch down to take the score to 28-4 at half-time.

England picked up from where they left off in the second half as playmaker Jenna Foubister went over to increase the advantage before Derbyshire claimed her second, with Izzy Rowe successfully kicking five of seven conversions.
